Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Addrex API, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Addrex provides an address validation, normalization, geocoding, and autocomplete API. The Service validates addresses against our national reference dataset and returns standardized results with match codes, confidence scores, and coordinates.

Addrex does not claim USPS DPV or CASS certification. Our validation confirms whether an address exists in our reference data.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. Depending on how you use Addrex, you may access features through a web dashboard (e.g., uploading spreadsheets) or through an API key for programmatic access. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and API keys, and for all activity under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our reference dataset
  • Exceed rate limits or circumvent usage restrictions
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Use the Service to build a competing product using our data
  • Use Addrex output to send unsolicited bulk mail or email in violation of CAN-SPAM, TCPA, or equivalent regulations
  • You agree to indemnify Addrex against any claims arising from your use of validated addresses for unlawful purposes

5. Demo and Trial Use

  • The free demo is provided to evaluate the Addrex platform. It is not intended as a production service.
  • Anonymous demo usage is limited to 3 runs per 24 hours.
  • Automated, scripted, or programmatic access to the demo without authorization is prohibited.
  • We reserve the right to suspend access for any user or IP address that abuses the demo system, including but not limited to automated scraping, bulk extraction of results, or circumvention of export controls.

6. Anti-Scraping

  • You may not use bots, scrapers, browser automation, or any automated tool to extract data from the Addrex platform without written authorization.
  • Violation may result in immediate suspension and permanent ban from the service.

7. Pricing and Billing

  • Plan details, features, and usage limits are described on our Pricing page at addrex.io/pricing and may be updated from time to time.
  • Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe.
  • Cancel anytime. Access continues through the current billing period.
  • No refunds are provided for partial months.
  • We may change pricing with 30 days notice to active subscribers.

8. Data Handling

For real-time API calls, addresses are processed and not retained beyond the request lifecycle. For batch processing, files are retained according to your plan's retention policy (default: 7 days). You may configure shorter retention or request immediate deletion. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

9. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Business and Enterprise plans include SLA commitments. We may perform scheduled maintenance with reasonable notice.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, including our reference dataset, algorithms, and documentation, is owned by Addrex and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your use of the Service does not grant you ownership of any content, data, or materials you access.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Addrex shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amounts paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
